Business Block Change Log (rep_bookchanglog.rep with rep_bookchglog.fmx)

Prerequisites for Business Block Change Log Report

The Business Block Change Log report is a listing of the production (status/revenue changes) changes made to a Business Block within a specified production period. Changes include status changes, increase or decrease of the room block, or increase or decrease of the revenue (rate changes).

This information is also available when displaying the business block through the Production Changes option. Changes are recorded per change date/per stay date in the log. Rates and revenue are recorded as entered into the room grid, that is, if the rate amount includes tax or packages, those are not deducted from the amount to find the net room rate.

These are the report general conditions:
  • The report is located in the Business Blocks report group.

  • The report parameter is named REP_BOOKCHGLOG.

  • The report is named Block Change Log Report.

  • The report generates rep_bookchglog.rep.

Selection Criteria

Use the following filters to generate the report. The Stay Date From/Stay Date To filter, Change Date From/Change Date To filter, and Block filter are mandatory.
  • Stay Date From/Stay Date To: The range of stay dates covered by the report. For example, when the Stay Date From is set to 01/01/2022 and the Stay Date To is set to 12/31/2022 and a business block exists that arrives on 12/26/2021 and stays until 01/15/2022, only those room nights and revenues that occur in the month of January 2022 for this business block (01st to 15th) are included in the report. The dates from 12/26/2021 through 12/31/2021 will not appear because they do not fall within the From/To Stay Date range.

  • Change Date From/Change Date To: These fields define the date range in which business block changes are recorded. Each change made to room status or room nights and revenue is recorded in a specific production change log. The Production Date Range filter scans the entries in the production change log searching for any business block room changes that fall under the other criteria that have been selected on the filter form. Due to the nature of this date range filter, only dates in the past are valid entries because there cannot be any entries in the business block change log after the current business date. To illustrate: a business block that gets created on status TEN in April 2021 with Stay Dates in October 2021 can turn to status DEF in June 2021. In this scenario, there would be two entries in the change log for this business block; one for the creation of the business block on status TEN in production period April 2021, and one for the status change to DEF in June 2021.

  • Block: Click the down arrow and select business blocks. The default is all business blocks.

  • Room Owner: Click the down arrow and select the specific Rooms owner.

  • Catering Owner: Click the down arrow and select the specific Catering owner.

  • Change By User: Click the down arrow and select the users to report on specific users.

  • Status Changes Only: Select this check box to include only the status changes in the report.

Report Data

If multiple business blocks are included, they are sorted by booking ID. For each business block, the account name and the booking name print as well as the booking ID, original number of room-nights, revenue and average rate on booking creation, room owner, catering owner, booking arrival, and departure dates.

The Account Name appears according to the following profile type hierarchy:
  • If a Company profile is attached to the business block, the Company profile name appears.

  • If a Company profile is not attached to the business block, but a Travel Agent is attached, the Travel Agent profile name appears.

  • If neither a Company profile nor a Travel Agent profile is attached to the business block, and a Source profile is attached, the Source profile name appears.
