Add an Alternate or an Incognito Name to a Profile (Video Transcript)

00:05

In this video you will learn how to add an alternate or an incognito name to a

00:10

guest profile. An incognito name adds a fictitious name to a profile and can be

00:15

used if a celebrity wants to be anonymous during their hotel stay. An

00:19

alternate name allows you to define an alternate name, title, language, or

00:25

salutation for the profile. In the OPERA Cloud application navigate to client

00:30

relations, profiles, and select manage profile. In this example, I will search

00:36

for a profile with the name test,

00:40

and then click search.

00:44

Select the profile from the list. On the profile presentation I can go

00:51

directly to the profile details section by clicking the link on the Left

00:54

navigation. Next I'll click Edit to make the changes. Below the name I can now see

01:02

the alternate name link and an icon with sunglasses and a hat representing the

01:07

incognito name. An alternate name provides the option to enter the guests

01:11

name in their national character set. In this example I add an alternate Japanese

01:16

name and click Save. Now the Japanese name will print on stationery including

01:21

the reservation confirmation or the registration card. Next I click the

01:25

incognito icon to add an incognito name and then click Save.

01:34

You must also click Save at the bottom of the profile details section.

01:42

Now I can click the alternate and incognito links to view the additional

01:46

names for this profile.
