In this video, you will learn how to create a reservation in OPERA Cloud.

Let's get started.

Go to Bookings, Reservations, and then select the Look to Book Sales Screen.

If configured, you may be prompted to enter any information about the person who called

to make the reservation.

In this example, I enter the caller's name and phone number.

And then click New Reservation.

You can review and close any sell messages.

Sell messages typically mention special promotions to offer the guest or events near the property.

Now, I select the arrival date, the number of nights, number of rooms, adults, and children

for this reservation.

I can search for or create a guest profile now, or later in this process.

In this example, I click search to view the room type and rate availability.

Now, I see the best available rates, including the number of available rooms for each room

I click the property name to view the Property Brochure and find out more about the amenities,

transportation, and local attractions for this property.

If the reservation is for more than one night, then I can toggle between viewing the nightly

rate, the average rate, or the total cost of the stay for each room type and rate.

Click the price tabs to view the details about each room type and rate.

I can click the room image to view more photos for this room type.

I click view policies to see the rate's deposit and cancellation policy for each reservation

I click Show Estimated Amount to view the estimated amounts for each reservation type.

Next, I click the X to close the details for this room type and rate.

Now, I click "initial display set" to view more available rooms and rates.

Or click next rates to view the next best available rate, and continue to browse rates.

Click the plus sign to expand and view the room details for the rate.

To book the reservation for this room type, click select.

On the left, I see the reservation Stay Information displays including a summary of the deposit

Next, I click the magnifying glass to search for an existing guest profile.

Alternatively, I could click the link to create a new profile.

Now, I enter the guest's last name and then click search.

If there are external solutions integrated with OPERA Cloud, then I see the solution

appear as a tab, that I can click to view and download the profiles available from that

In this example, I select the profile from the list and then scroll down to click select.

The room type and rate amount are pre-populated based on the what I selected on the Look to

Book screen.

Next, I enter the a market code and source code for statistical tracking.

In some cases, the market and source code fields are automatically populated based on

the rate code.

Now, I click the packages magnifying glass to add a packages or items.

In this example, I add an 18 hole golf package.

I can add more packages by changing the number or I can change the date for the package.

In this example, I enter 4.

And then click continue booking.

Next, I click the items magnifying glass.

If an item is available to add to the reservation, then the number of items is highlighted in

I click the green check mark to confirm, and then click continue booking.

In this example, I click to add an extra bed to the reservation, on Monday June 20th.

Now, I see the packages and items I added included in the Reservation Stay information.

If needed, I click more to go to the membership details or to go to the charge routing instructions

To set up a share reservation, I can click add a sharing guest.

I can click show more to add special requests, or to add the guest's smoking preference.

Next, I scroll down to enter the payment information.

Select the payment method from the drop-down list, and then click book now.
