Manage Rate Restrictions (Video Transcript)

00:04

In this video you will learn how to manage rate and room restrictions. You

00:10

can use restrictions to control availability based on demand, experience

00:14

or forecasting. For example, during a weekend when demand is high you can

00:20

apply a two-night minimum stay restriction on all or specific rates and

00:24

rooms. Let's get started. Go to inventory and then select manage restrictions. I

00:31

can search for existing rate restrictions or I can create a new

00:35

restriction. In this example I click new to apply a new restriction. Select the

00:42

date range for the restriction. In this example, I select Friday as the start

00:47

date and Sunday as the end date. From the restriction drop-down list

00:56

I select minimum stay through. Then, I click the plus icon to increase the days

01:04

to 2. I can select a specific room class room type or I can select a specific

01:10

rate category or rate code for the restriction. In this example, I select

01:16

house to apply the restriction to all the rooms. I can select the category or

01:21

code magnifying glass to select a specific rate to apply the restriction

01:25

to or if I do not select a specific rate category or rate code the restriction

01:31

applies to all rates. Next click Save. Now, I can see the restriction I just

01:36

created and it applies from Thursday through Sunday.

01:39

I can click the list icon to display the restrictions in a list view

01:45

or I can click the week view icon to see the calendar view of the restrictions

01:51

setup for the week. Next, I click the vertical ellipsis and select change log. I

01:56

can adjust the property and the date and then click search. Now, I see the list of

02:02

changes to restrictions for this property and this specific date.
