Create Block Reservations Using the Rooming List (Video Transcript)
In this video, you will learn how to create multiple reservations for a block

using the Rooming List options. Let's get started.

To add the reservations, first, you must find the block,

in the open for pickup status. Go to Bookings, select Blocks,

and then select manage blocks. Next, click search.

Now, I can see the blocks open for pick up in the status column.

Next to the block, click the I want to menu and then click Rooming List.

There are two ways to add a list of reservations to a block.

On the Rooming list screen, you can manually enter the reservations using the Add rows option

or you can import a Rooming List file with a complete list of reservations.

The reservations created or imported using the rooming list option will use the block's

posting master reservation as a template. Now, I can click the Change Template option

to select a different posting master reservation template

for the reservations created or imported. To create reservations for this block, I click add

rows to add a row for each new reservation. Now, I can enter the name for this reservation

and scroll to the right to add any other reservation details.

The payment method is required for each reservation.

In this example, I click add payment information.

Next, I select a payment method from the drop-down list.

And then click ok. Scroll left and right to

enter the required fields including the check in, check out date and any additional details.

Click save. Now, the new reservation displays the

confirmation number in the first column. Let's look at how to import reservations

using a rooming list file. Here is an example rooming list .xls file.

You can use a .csv , .xls or .xlsx file. The following columns are required in the rooming

list file the line number, the first name, last name, and the check in and check out dates.

You can update or add to the reservation details after the reservations are imported.

To import a list of reservations, click import rooming list.

Select Choose file, navigate to the rooming list file on your computer, and then click Open.

Click Import file. To map the data in the file

to OPERA Cloud, select the column names from corresponding drop-down lists.

In this example, I select the guest first and last name, the arrival and departure dates,

the line number, the room type, and the number of adults because these are the columns in

the RoomingList.xls file. Next, click Add Reservations.

Now, I see the list of reservations I just imported.

I can make any changes to these new reservations.

And then click Save. In this example,

I must borrow rooms from the house inventory.
