Configuring Profile Lookup and Download from External Systems

Generic profile lookup and download is used to lookup and fetch profiles from an external system using the OPERA Cloud REST API specifications. Profile lookup is initiated from profile search , and invokes the Profile Lookup service to fetch and display the result received from the external system. The Download action then fetches and saves the selected profile in OPERA Cloud. For more information, see Using Profile Lookup and Download with Integrated Solutions

External System Implementation

The external system used for profile lookup must adopt to the OPERA Cloud REST APIs and develop a service based on the Customer Relationship Management Outbound specifications published on Oracle Hospitality Integration Platform Developer Portal.

• Implement getExternalProfiles to lookup profiles in the external system.

• Implement downloadExternalProfileto download a profile from the external system.

Note:

The endpoint URL and authentication details of the external system are needed to configure the Outbound System below.

Complete the following configuration in OPERA Cloud to enable profile lookup and download:

Outbound System Configuration

Configure an Configuring Outbound Systems according to the instructions for CRM Generic for REST API Profile Lookup/Download.

When profile sharing is active in chain configuration, configure for Global Context. For more information, see Configuring Chain, configure for Global Context..

Note:

An external system and external database are auto-configured. 

Outbound Domain Allowlist Configuration

Outbound domain allowlist configuration automates the cloud infrastructure changes required to allow outbound HTTPS communication from OPERA Cloud to the external system.

Configure Outbound Allowlist for the destination Hostname, HTTPS Protocol and Port Number. For more information, see Configuring Outbound Domain Allow Listings.

Note:

When Ready status, perform a test connection; if successful the outbound lookup and download integration is ready.

OPERA Controls Configuration

For more information, see OPERA Controls — Profile

1. Activate Profile LookupOPERA Control.

2. Update the Profile Types for Lookup OPERA Control to select the profile types for external lookup.

3. Update External Lookup Behavior OPERA Control.

   1. Force: Profile Lookup is automatically triggered when no matches are found in OPERA Cloud.

   2. Simultaneous: Profile Lookup is triggered regardless of matches found in OPERA Cloud.

   3. Manual: Profile Lookup is not automatically triggered, until the external system tab is selected in the profile search panel.

4. Update Default External System for Lookup OPERA Control to select a default external system. (Applicable when the External Lookup Behavior OPERA Control is set to Simultaneous or Force).

OPERA Cloud Role Configuration

Assign the Profile Lookup task to roles.
