Reservation Packages
Prerequisites for Reservation Packages .
Use reservation packages to manage the amenities and services you provide as part of a guest's stay. You can add package elements to a rate code to create a package rate, or add package elements directly to a reservation, or use a combination of both.
For example :

A Bed and Breakfast package rate code includes accommodation and a breakfast package element in the rate amount.

A Honeymoon Package package rate code might include accommodation and package elements for inclusions such as champagne, chocolates, dinner, and breakfast.

An Extra bed, Crib, Airport Pickup or Airport Drop-off might be required for a specific reservation and can be setup as a Sold Separately and Add To Rate - Separate Line in order to post a separate charge to the reservation account.

An Additional Breakfast might be required for a specific reservation and can be setup as a Sold Separately and Add To Rate - Combined Line in order to combined the charge with the room charge on the reservation account.

A reservation for the "Honeymoon Package" could then also have "Airport Pickup" and "Airport Drop-off" package elements added on-the-fly.
Each package element is configured with an Item Price, which adds the rate amount (price) when setup as Add to Rate. When a package element is setup as Include in Rate, the Item Price is subtracted from the rate amount, reducing the nett room rate.
When the Item Inventory OPERA Control is active package elements can also be configured to deduct inventory items for when the package element is added to a reservation.
The packages details panel allows you to view a list of all package elements that are included in the rate code or manually added (sold separately) to the reservation When package elements are added to the reservation, you may later delete the package from the reservation or edit the Quantity. When package elements are added to the reservation rate code, you cannot delete the package element or change the Quantity, which is determined according to the calculation rule for the package : per person, per adult, per room, per flat rate, and so on. For example, if a breakfast package element is per-person, and there are two adults in the reservation, then the Quantity is 2. You can, however, exclude the package item.
With the Override Package Amount task granted, you can also amend a package element Price and Allowance amounts for a specific reservation.
