Configuring Channel Rate Codes

Note:

This feature applies only to the Booking.com channel.

Using the Rate Codes List

Use the Rate Codes list to locate rate codes that are mapped to the channel or require mapping.

From the Administration menu, select Distribution, select Channel Distribution, and then select Channels.
Select the channel and property:
1. At the hub level, select a Channel and Property.
2. At the property level, select a Channel. The property is selected automatically.
Click Edit.
Click the Rate Codes tab.
Select Property Rate Code or Channel Rate Code, and then enter the search criteria.
Select Mapped to view rate codes that are already mapped to the channel.
Select Unmapped to view rate codes that require mapping.
Click Retrieve from Channel to view rate codes that exist on Booking.com but are not linked to an OPERA rate code.

Adding a Channel Rate Code

Use this procedure to create a rate code and product, which is a rate-and-room combination, on Booking.com. Complete the four-step wizard.

From the Administration menu, select Distribution, select Channel Distribution, and then select Channels.
Select the channel and property:
1. At the hub level, select a Channel and Property.
2. At the property level, select a Channel. The property is selected automatically.
Click Edit.
Click the Rate Codes tab.
On the Rate Codes tab, click the plus icon next to an unmapped property rate code. The Map Rate Code to BOOKING.COM wizard opens.
In step 1, add the rate code:
1. Map To: Review the value. This field is view only.
2. Channel Rate Name: Enter the Booking.com rate name. This field is required.
3. Click Continue, or click Cancel to exit.
In step 2, add the meal plan and cancellation policy:
1. Meal Plan: Select the meal plan for the rate code, or leave the field blank when no meal plan applies.
2. Cancellation Policy: Select the cancellation policy for the rate code. This field is required.
3. To add a cancellation policy for specific dates, click Additional Cancellation Policy, and then complete the following:
  1. Additional Cancellation Policy 1: Select the cancellation policy.
  2. Begin Date: Enter the begin date. This field is required.
  3. End Date: Enter the end date. This field is required.
4. Click Additional Cancellation Policy again to add another policy.
5. To remove an additional cancellation policy, click the trash icon next to the policy.
6. Click Continue, or click Cancel to exit.
In step 3, manage value adds. Value adds are always included in the rate-code price.
1. Select the check box for each value add to include.
2. Complete the additional information that appears for the selected value add:
  1. Late Check-Out, Late Check-In, and Early Check-In: Select a time.
  2. Pets Welcome: Enter the maximum number of pets.
  3. Parking: Select Self Parking or Valet.
  4. Airport Transfer: Select Round Trip or One-way.
  5. Park, Sleep & Fly: Enter the maximum number of parking days at the property.
  6. Food & Drink: Select Credit or Discount.
    1. For a credit, specify the frequency, occupancy basis, credit amount, currency, and whether the credit accrues daily.
    2. For a discount, specify the discount percentage.
  7. Property Services Credit or Discount: Select Credit or Discount.
    1. For a credit, specify the frequency, occupancy basis, credit amount, currency, and whether the credit accrues daily.
    2. For a discount, specify the discount percentage.
  8. Spa - Massage: Enter the number of minutes.
  9. Spa Access: Select Unlimited or Hourly. If you select Hourly, enter the number of hours.
3. Click Continue, or click Cancel to exit.
In step 4, map the rate code to room types:
1. Property Rate Code: Review the value populated from the selected record. This field is view only.
2. Channel Rate Code: Review the value populated from the previous steps. This field is view only.
3. Channel Rate Code Name: Review the value populated from the previous steps. This field is view only.
4. Associated Room Types: Select or clear the room types to associate with the rate code.
5. Under Publish, select the applicable options for each rate-and-room combination:
  1. Restriction: Select to publish restrictions to Booking.com.
  2. Rate: Select to publish rate amounts to Booking.com.
6. Start Date: Enter the mapping start date. The current date is populated automatically.
7. End Date: Leave the field blank, or enter the mapping end date.
8. Channel Rate Code Order: Enter the order for the rate code.
9. Channel Sell Sequence: Enter the sell sequence only when mapping more than one property rate code to the same channel rate code. This configuration is not recommended.
10. Click Submit to save, or click Cancel to exit.

Editing a Channel Rate Code

Use this procedure to edit a rate code on Booking.com.

From the Administration menu, select Distribution, select Channel Distribution, and then select Channels.
Select the channel and property:
1. At the hub level, select a Channel and Property.
2. At the property level, select a Channel. The property is selected automatically.
Click Edit.
Click the Rate Codes tab.
On the Mapped list, click the horizontal ellipsis for the rate code, and then click the expand-edit icon. The wizard opens at step 1.
In step 1, edit the rate code:
1. Map To: Review the Booking.com channel rate code populated automatically. This field is view only.
2. Channel Rate Name: Edit the Booking.com rate name. This field is required.
3. Click Continue, or click Cancel to exit.
In step 2, edit the meal plan and cancellation policy:
1. Meal Plan: Select the meal plan for the rate code, or leave the field blank when no meal plan applies.
2. Cancellation Policy: Select the cancellation policy. This field is required.
3. To add a policy for specific dates, click Additional Cancellation Policy, select the policy, and enter the required Begin Date and End Date.
4. Repeat the previous step to add more policies, or click the trash icon next to a policy to remove it.
5. Click Continue, or click Cancel to exit.
In step 3, select or clear the value-add check boxes. Complete the additional information described in Adding a Channel Rate Code for any selected value add.
Click Submit to save, or click Cancel to exit.

Editing a Channel Rate Code Mapping

From the Administration menu, select Distribution, select Channel Distribution, and then select Channels.
Select the channel and property:
1. At the hub level, select a Channel and Property.
2. At the property level, select a Channel. The property is selected automatically.
Click Edit.
Click the Rate Codes tab.
On the Mapped list, click the pencil icon for the channel rate code mapping.
Property Rate Code: Review the populated value. This field is view only.
Channel Rate Code: Review the populated value. This field is view only.
Channel Rate Code Name: Review the populated value. This field is view only.
Associated Room Types: Select or clear the room types to associate with the rate code.
Under Publish, select the applicable options:
1. Restriction: Select to publish restrictions to Booking.com.
2. Rate: Select to publish rate amounts to Booking.com.
Start Date: Enter the mapping start date. The current date is populated automatically.
End Date: Leave the field blank, or enter the mapping end date.
Channel Rate Code Order: Enter the order for the rate code.
Channel Sell Sequence: Enter the sell sequence only when mapping more than one property rate code to the same channel rate code. This configuration is not recommended.
Click Submit to save, or click Cancel to exit.

Unmapping a Channel Rate Code

From the Administration menu, select Distribution, select Channel Distribution, and then select Channels.
Select the channel and property:
1. At the hub level, select a Channel and Property.
2. At the property level, select a Channel. The property is selected automatically.
Click Edit.
Click the Rate Codes tab.
On the Mapped list, locate the rate-code record.
Click the Unmap icon.

Viewing Unmapped Channel Rate Codes

Unmapped channel rate codes exist on Booking.com but are not linked to an OPERA rate code. You can map, edit, or delete an unmapped channel rate code.

From the Administration menu, select Distribution, select Channel Distribution, and then select Channels.
Select the channel and property:
1. At the hub level, select a Channel and Property.
2. At the property level, select a Channel. The property is selected automatically.
Click Edit.
Click the Rate Codes tab.
On the Rate Codes tab, click Retrieve from Channel.
Review the unmapped channel rate codes returned from Booking.com.

Mapping an Unmapped Channel Rate Code

From the Administration menu, select Distribution, select Channel Distribution, and then select Channels.
Select the channel and property:
1. At the hub level, select a Channel and Property.
2. At the property level, select a Channel. The property is selected automatically.
Click Edit.
Click the Rate Codes tab.
Click the chain-link icon for the unmapped channel rate code.
Property Rate Code: Select the OPERA rate code to link to the Booking.com channel rate code.
Channel Rate Code: Review the populated value. This field is view only.
Channel Rate Code Name: Review the populated value. This field is view only.
Associated Room Types: Select or clear the room types to associate with the rate code.
Under Publish, select the applicable options:
1. Restriction: Select to publish restrictions to Booking.com.
2. Rate: Select to publish rate amounts to Booking.com.
Start Date: Enter the mapping start date. The current date is populated automatically.
End Date: Leave the field blank, or enter the mapping end date.
Channel Rate Code Order: Enter the order for the rate code.
Channel Sell Sequence: Enter the sell sequence only when mapping more than one property rate code to the same channel rate code. This configuration is not recommended.
Click Submit to save, or click Cancel to exit.

Deleting an Unmapped Channel Rate Code

To delete a rate code from Booking.com, first unmap it from the OPERA rate code. You can delete only unmapped channel rate codes.

From the Administration menu, select Distribution, select Channel Distribution, and then select Channels.
Select the channel and property:
1. At the hub level, select a Channel and Property.
2. At the property level, select a Channel. The property is selected automatically.
Click Edit.
Click the Rate Codes tab.
Retrieve the unmapped channel rate codes from Booking.com.
Click the trash icon for the unmapped channel rate-code record.
