Resource Types and Resource Usage
This section explains how to use Primary, Inventory, and Shared Resources when configuring Leisure Experiences.
| Resource Type | Purpose | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Primary Resource | Select a named resource based on required attributes or qualifications. | Male therapist for a massage; certified chef for a cooking class. |
| Inventory Resource | Manage the quantity of items required by an Experience. | Bicycle Inventory is reduced as bicycle-rental bookings are scheduled. |
| Shared Resource | Allow concurrent bookings until the configured capacity is reached. | A 20-person boat can accept simultaneous bookings. |
Primary Resources
Use Primary Resource when you need to assign or select a resource based on specific attributes, qualifications, or characteristics. For a male therapist request, use Male and Female features to filter available therapists. For a Cooking Class, assign the required certification as a Feature on the chef resource.
The Primary Resource check box can be used in two ways:
- Primary Resource selected without specific features: When booking the experience, users can filter available resources by any configured feature—for example, a male or female therapist.
- Primary Resource selected with specific features: The experience requires a resource that matches all selected features. For example, if the primary resource is Chef and the selected feature is Italian, the experience is available only when an Italian chef is selected.
Inventory Resources
Use Inventory Resource when the Experience requires a quantity of items rather than a named person or specific space. For example, available Bicycle Inventory quantity is reduced as bookings are scheduled.
Shared Resources
Shared Resources are optional. Use Shared Resource when multiple bookings can use the same resource at the same time, provided total scheduled participants do not exceed capacity. Select Shared and enter the resource capacity.
