Interchange service configuration

Service Configuration option is provided in Argus Console > System Configuration > Interchange. You can access this menu option only when you have permissions to the ESM admin user role. Client-server based ESM Configuration Tool that was used to configure Oracle Argus Interchange server has been de-supported and removed from the installer.

Deployment of Oracle Argus Interchange servers on multiple machines connecting to the same database is being supported in the release. The configuration made in the Service Configuration screen is used by all the Oracle Argus Interchange servers connected to the same database.

Database name is captured as an attribute in the Argus.ini file during fresh installation and upgrade of the Interchange server. Interchange servers installed on multiple machines can process transmit and receive requests. Administrator can adjust the permissions of transmit or receive requests to be active on specific Interchange servers. You must restart the Interchange server for these configuration updates to take effect.

Log file path of the Oracle Argus Interchange service is not provided for Interchange Service Configuration. The Interchange Service activities are logged in the ESM_OWNER.INTERCHANGE_ACTIVITY_LOGS table, instead of the physical log files. Contents of the log table can be periodically purged. Enablement of the purge feature for INTERCHANGE_ACTIVITY_LOGS table, frequency of purge, number of records to be purged are controlled through the ARGUS_APP.CFG_ARGUS_TABLE_PURGE table.

Interchange service support for multiple databases has been removed. It is now required to have separate deployments of the Oracle Argus Interchange server for individual databases, such as test, validation, and production database.

Changes to AG Services

Log file path parameter in AG services has been removed from the AG service configuration.
Log file path is set at the time of installation and configuration is stored in Argus.ini file.
