About users
A user is a person who works in the Oracle Central Coding application through the user interface.
The type of authentication used with Oracle Central Coding determines how you perform user management and authorization:
- Native authentication—Used in all self-hosted Oracle Central Coding instances. User accounts, roles, and work team assignments are managed in the
application by the Oracle Central Coding administrator.
Users log in to the Oracle Central Coding application directly using the credentials provided by a user administrator.
- SSO authentication—Available only for Oracle Central Coding instances hosted by Oracle. Your organization’s delegated administrator (CDA) creates, manages, and grants
access to user accounts from Oracle Life Sciences Identity and Access
Management Service (OHSIAMS). After a user account is set up in Oracle Life Sciences Identity and Access
Management Service, a Oracle Central Coding user administrator assigns roles and work teams to the user.
Users log in with their SSO credentials. If the Oracle Central Coding application is integrated with instances of the InForm application that are SSO-enabled, users log in to one application to access both.
