Select a dataset and create a workbook

As a Clinical One Cloud Service user, you can access your study data in Oracle Clinical One Analytics through predefined datasets.

To use Oracle Clinical One Analytics and create workbooks, you must be assigned the appropriate permissions and study roles in Clinical One Cloud Service. For more information, see About your access to Oracle Clinical One Analytics.

Before creating a workbook, review the table below to determine which dataset you want to use. For more information, see Dataset descriptions.

Dataset Description
Blinded Kits dataset Use it to analyze and visualize data and the audit history of specific kits in the study, from management and dispensation, without viewing details that could potentially unblind users.
Blinded Subject Events Dataset Use it to analyze and visualize data and audit history of events associated to individual subjects, without viewing details that could potentially unblind users.
Dh Metrics dataset Use it to analyze when data was last refreshed in Oracle Clinical One Analytics and to monitor data reliability.
Kits and Randomization Design Dataset Use it to analyze and visualize data regarding the metadata of kit definition, dispensation schedule and randomization definition for the study.
Queries Dataset Use it to analyze and visualize details and audit history of query data.
Study Codelist dataset Use it to analyze and visualize data regarding codelists at both study and global level, as well as current code configurations and changes made over time.
Study Design Dataset Use it to analyze and visualize data regarding the metadata of visits, forms and items included in study versions and applied across study modes.
Subject Dataset Use it to analyze and visualize subject level details and the audit history of a subject's data.
Subject Event SVFL dataset Use this dataset to analyze and visualize Sign, Verify, Freeze and Lock (SVFL) actions applied to an event or visit, as well as their audit history.
Subject Forms Dataset Use it to analyze and visualize data and audit history of forms associated to individual subjects.
Subject Form SVFL dataset Use this dataset to analyze and visualize Sign, Verify, Freeze and Lock (SVFL) actions applied to a form, as well as their audit history.
Subject Form Items Dataset Use it to analyze and visualize item-level data and the audit history of data entered for a question in a form for individual subjects.
Subject Item SVFL dataset Use this dataset to analyze and visualize Sign, Verify, Freeze and Lock (SVFL) actions applied to a question, as well as their audit history.
Unblinded Kits Dataset Use it to analyze and visualize data and the audit history of specific kits in the study, from management and dispensation. This dataset includes information that could potentially unblind a user.
Unblinded Subject Events Dataset Use it to analyze and visualize data and audit history of events associated to individual subjects. This dataset includes information that could potentially unblind a user.

Follow the steps below to create a workbook, add datasets, and apply filters.

  1. Open Oracle Clinical One Analytics to access the Catalog page.
  2. Create a workbook using one of the following options:
    Option Steps
    From the create menu
    1. From the toolbar, select Create, then select Workbook to open the Add Data page
    2. Select a dataset, then select Add to Workbook to open the New Workbook page.
    From the Data page
    1. From the navigation menu Analytics navigation menu, select Data to open the Data page.
    2. Select a dataset to open the New Workbook page.
  3. (Optional) Add additional datasets to a workbook using one of the following options:
    Option Steps
    From the workbook toolbar
    1. At the top of the New Workbook page, select Data.
    2. Select Analytics Add Datasets Plus to open the Add Data page.
    3. Select a dataset, then select Add to Workbook. The dataset appears in the left data panel under the original dataset.

      Tip: To remove a dataset, right-click it and select Remove from Workbook.

    From the left data panel
    1. In the left data panel, next to the search field, select Analytics Add Datasets Circle Plus, then select Add Data to open the Add Data page.
    2. Select a dataset, then select Add to Workbook. The dataset appears in the left data panel under the original dataset.

      Tip: To remove a dataset, right-click it and select Remove from Workbook.

  4. (Optional) Apply filers to a workbook using one of the following options.

    Note:

    Filters can only be added on the Visualize page. Select Visualize at the top center of the screen.

    Drag an element to the filter bar
    1. In the left data panel, expand the folders and select a data element (for example, STUDY_ID_NAME) to use as a filter.
    2. Drag the element to the filter bar at the top of the page to open the filter. For more information, see Filter Settings below.

    1. From the filter bar, select Analytics Add Datasets Circle PlusClick here or drag data to add a filter.
    2. From the list, select a category, then select the data element you want to filter by. For more information, see the Filter Settings below.

    • Select a filter type: List or Top Bottom N. For more information, see Filter Types.
    • If applicable, enable Exclude and/or Nulls. For more information, see Exclude Selected Filter Values and Include Null Filter Values.
    • In the left pane, select the values to include, or select Add (#) to include all values.

      Tip:

      Filters are cascading by default, so one filter can limit the values available in others on the same canvas. Using multiple filters—especially with large data volumes—can increase query runtime and may cause timeouts. To disable cascading, open the Filter Bar Menu Analytics Filter Bar Menu and set Limit Values By to None. This applies to all filters on the canvas.
