Rescreen a subject

In some cases, your study's protocol may call for allowing subjects to be rescreened. For example, a subject may not have met study protocol requirements at the time of their initial screening, but may meet the requirements at a later time.

Prior to working with rescreening visits, be aware that the Rescreen option does not appear in the Manage drop-down for the following scenarios:
  • Rescreening is not allowed, according to the study settings.
  • The subject has reached the maximum number of rescreen attempts. Also configured on the study setting.
  • A rescreening visit has not been created for the study yet.
  • The subject is either successfully screened, randomized, or enrolled, or the subject has been withdrawn from the study.
  • The screen fail or rescreening visit is started, or any data has been entered for either of them. The Rescreen option does not appear unless this data is cleared. Or, there is no Screen Fail visit present and the study's settings are set to lock all screening/rescreening data for the previous visit.

    Tip:

If all data is cleared for the screen fail event, if additional rescreen attempts remain, the Rescreen option becomes available again in the Manage drop-down.

You are also able to undo manual screen failures or update data that generated an auto-screen fail, as long as you have not moved on to another rescreen visit.

Note:

A Screen Fail or Rescreen visit is hidden in the UI if the subject is successfully screened.

For more information on the screening, rescreening, and screen failure events, see Understand subject events and their impact.

  1. On the Home page, access your study on the desired mode. See Access study modes and pages.
  2. Along the top, make sure Subjects is selected.
  3. In the table, locate and select the subject you would like to rescreen.

    Tip:

You can filter your view based on data you need to see. For more information, see Filter subjects in a study.
  4. From the Manage drop-down, select Rescreen, then perform one of the following:
    • Modify any necessary form data, click Save, then Rescreen.
    • On the Visit page, from the Manage drop-down, select Focused Rescreen and modify any necessary form data, then click Rescreen.

Focused rescreen allows you to manage rescreening from within the rescreen visit for targeted data updates.
