Use the Object Navigator in DMW

The framework of Oracle DMW consists of nested containers - Domains, Application Areas, and Work Areas - where you can define metadata objects (e.g. Business Areas or Programs). While the configuration of this structure is conducted in Oracle LSH, you can browse objects and their definition properties using the Object Navigator in Oracle DMW.

To view more information about how different containers and objects interact within the application, refer to What is the Organizational Structure? and other adjacent topics in the Oracle® Life Sciences Data Hub Implementation Guide.
  1. Click Object Navigator from the Navigation menu in the upper right corner of the Oracle DMW screen.
The page refreshes to display the Object Navigator interface. A list of available Domains is displayed below a search function, where you can search for a specific Domain.
  2. Select a Domain from the list.
Clicking a domain refreshes the page to display a list of Application Areas configured within the Domain in the left panel of the page.
  3. To view Work Areas and the Object Instances contained within, you can expand the nodes in the left panel. Clicking any of the Area or Object Instance names in the left panel displays details about the object in the right panel.
  4. You can use the search function at the top of the page to filter for specific objects.
  5. Selecting an object (or object container node) in the left panel and clicking Focus isolates your selection so you can filter objects within a specific container. Show Focus History is an interactive trail of breadcrumbs where you can click to different Focus points you have created.
  6. Click Back to domain list in the upper right corner to start over.
