Add a Business

Create a business within the organization.

For details about required privileges, see Predefined Payment Groups and Privileges.

A business is a legal entity and more than one business can be added to match your organization’s structure.

When a business is added:
  • The person who created the business becomes a business user, meaning they have full control.

  • If their group has the Add/Update Businesses privilege, then they become the owner of the automatically created business and any other businesses they add. They can also grant ownership of these businesses to other users.

  1. From the onboarding checklist, click Begin. You are then guided through each step in the process.
  2. Click Continue.
  3. From the Payment Processing page, select the option to indicate whether the business processes in-person transactions with payment terminals.
  4. Select the option to indicate whether the business sells goods and services online and if Yes, then enter your business website, for example, https://www.oracle.com. If you need to add more than one URL, click Add Another.
  5. Click Continue.
  6. From the Industry Selection page, review the industries that your business serves and then click Continue.

    Note:

    • This screen is only visible if more than one industry applies, so you may not see this screen.
    • You must have the correct permission to be able to view all industries available in your organization. See Predefined Payment Groups for more details.
  7. From the Industry Codes page, review the merchant category codes, select the Default Merchant Category Code and the Default Industry Code, and then click Continue.

    Note:

    • The codes in bold are merchant category codes and the codes not in bold are industry codes.
    • There is a new page of codes for each industry you selected for the business.
    • You can't add or remove the codes, but you can change the default.
    • If a code is missing, contact Oracle Support.
  8. Review additional merchant category codes and then click Continue. This screen is only visible for some organizations with codes in several industries.
  9. From the Users page, select Users who can manage the business details.
  10. Select Business Unit Users who can’t manage the business details, but can add new business units.
  11. Click Continue.
  12. From the Review page, confirm the business information and then click Submit.
After adding the business, you are taken back to the onboarding checklist. The next step is to Verify a Business.
