Review Any Variance
Use the variance in the Accounting Report to understand how much of the Business Day still needs to settle.
Steps
- Note the Variance amount and the Accounting Payout Status for the Business Day.
- Interpret the variance:
- A value of 0.00 means the Business Day is fully settled.
- A negative value shows the amount that has not yet been deposited to your bank.
- Consider the age of the Business Day:
- Variance on a Business Day that is one to three days old is normal and typically resolves automatically.
- Variance that persists beyond five to seven days requires investigation through the drill-down tasks.
- Continue to the transaction and deposit drill-down steps to identify outstanding activity.
Note: Variance occurs when the payout run has not yet completed. Monitor recent Business Days and focus investigation on variances that persist beyond the normal settlement window.
Result
You have evaluated whether the variance is expected or requires further action, and you know which drill-down tasks to complete next.
