Oracle Retail Promotion Engine Cloud Service (ORPE)

A new additional/optional service is added to the Oracle Retail Customer Engagement Cloud Services Suite. It is called Oracle Retail Promotion Engine Cloud Service (ORPE). ORPE is a headless promotion execution service built for omnichannel retail. This initial release includes the following:

  • Highly performant calculation engine

  • Comprehensive ReST API

  • Integration between ORCE Foundation and Oracle Retail Promotion Engine for foundation data

  • Out-of-the-box integration with existing ORCE services including Campaign and Deal Service for an integrated UI and customer and Segment Management for customer targeting and serialized coupon management

  • A special optional hybrid implementation for the latest version of Xstore featuring:

    • Distributed version of the ORPE engine running locally in Xstore

    • Automatic updates of promotion data through the ReST service

    • Centralized monitoring/health check of local instances through Retail Home

Payment Card Token

The capability is added to store Payment Card Tokens for other systems to utilize during sales to Oracle Retail Customer Engagement:

  • A user interface is created to ORCE for token storage and management of payment card tokens.

  • The ability is added to Get, Post, and Delete tokens from ORCE storage.

  • Functionality is added that will prevent customer merge when payment card tokens are present.

Customer Enhancements

The Customer Since date is changed to be Customer Signup Date and not the Customer Created Date.

The Customer Merge Review functionality is added to Oracle Retail Customer Engagement. This option can be found under the Customer menu. The user will have the ability to then Approve, Disallow, or Delete duplicate sets of customers identified from the Customer Duplicate Search Task.

Account Enhancements

The Campaign ID, Promotion ID, and Offer ID are added to the View Program Activity details pop up for Loyalty and Award Programs.

When a retailer has Franchise support turned on, only selected franchisee locations will be available in the location rules when defining programs.
