This section describes the feature enhancements in this release.

Supported Retail Integration Products

The Oracle Retail Integration Cloud Service (RICS) is composed of the Oracle Retail Integration Suite of products that are cloud deployable for a customer's integration to Oracle Retail applications and the customer's on-premises or hybrid configurations of third-party applications.

The integration products supported and mentioned in this document are the same as the generally available on-premises versions of the following applications:

  • Oracle Retail Integration Bus (RIB)

  • Oracle Retail Bulk Data Integration (BDI)

  • Retail Financial Integration (RFI)

  • Universal service Mapper (USM).

Column Definitions

  • Feature: Provides a description of the feature being delivered.

  • Delivered: Identifies whether the feature is Enabled or Disabled upon initial delivery.

  • Scale: Identifies the size of the feature. Options are:

    • Small: These UI or Process-based features are typically comprised of minor field, validation, or program changes. Therefore, the potential impact to users is minimal.

    • Large: These UI or process-based features have more complex designs. Therefore, the potential impact to users is higher.

  • Customer Action Required: You must take action before these features can be used. these features are delivered disabled and you choose if and when to enable them.

Retail Integration Bus (RIB)

Optimize Resource Utilization by Removing Redundant RIB-apps

RIB Docker Image had a few redundant rib-apps that are no longer in use. In this release, rib-rce and rib-rsys applications have been removed.

Added Ability in JMS Console to Generate Logs and Select Log Level from UI

JMS Console UI has a new feature to control and update logging to different levels (SEVERE, WARNING, INFO) The log location is <TOOLS Domain Home>/logs/jms-console_application.log.

JMS Console Email Notification now has the Subnamespace for Easier Reference and Triage

Subnamespace and pod name have been added as part of subject. There was an issue where it was difficult to identify which env has issues without subnamespace information in the JMS notification emails.

Minor Updates in Poison Message Handling

Poison messages are now uploaded to "outgoing/poison-message/rib-<app>" instead of "outgoing/poison-message/rib-<app>/YYYY-MM-DD".

RIB Multi-Channel is Enabled by Default

Starting with this release, multi-channel configuration is enabled by default for a few high volume message families; namely Items, ItemLoc and Orders.

Bulk Data Integration (BDI)

Preserve BDI Applications in Scope Between Patches

BDI configuration such as apps-in-scope was not being preserved occationally. This known issue has been fixed in this release.

Introduced Auto Purge Feature in BDI ProcessFlow Application to Improve UI Responsiveness

BDI ProcessFlow has a new auto-purge feature that periodically purges the execution data to optimize the UI performance.

Fixed an Issue with Incorrect or null Start and End Times for Job Admin and ProcessFlow

Job Admin and ProcessFlow occasionally had incorrect or null start and end times due to an issue with Java batch. This issue has been fixed in this release.

Infrastructure and Security Requirements

Oracle Software Security Assurance (OSSA) Compliance

The release underwent a full OSSA cycle addressing security.

Critical Patch Updates

Oracle releases Critical Patch Updates on a quarterly cadence. This release includes July 2023 CPU patch.
