1 Feature Summary

Oracle Retail Integration Cloud Service 24.1.401.0 is a Critical Update.

This section describes the feature enhancements in this release.

Supported Retail Integration Products

The Oracle Retail Integration Cloud Service (RICS) is composed of the Oracle Retail Integration Suite of products that are cloud deployable for a customer's integration to Oracle Retail applications and the customer's on-premises or hybrid configurations of third-party applications.

The integration products supported and mentioned in this document are the same as the generally available on-premises versions of the following applications:

  • Oracle Retail Integration Bus (RIB)

  • Oracle Retail Bulk Data Integration (BDI)

  • Retail Financial Integration (RFI)

  • Universal service Mapper (USM).

Column Definitions

  • Feature: Provides a description of the feature being delivered.

  • Module Impacted: Identifies the module impacted associated with the feature, if any.

  • Scale: Identifies the size of the feature. Options are:

    • Small: These UI or process-based features are typically comprised of minor field, validation, or program changes. Therefore, the potential impact to users is minimal.

    • Medium: These UI or process-based features are typically comprised of field, validation, or program changes. Therefore, the potential impact to users is moderate.

    • Large: These UI or process-based features have more complex designs. Therefore, the potential impact to users is higher.

  • Delivered: Is the new feature available for use immediately after upgrade or must the feature be enabled or configured? If no, the feature is non-disruptive to end users and action is required (detailed steps below) to make the feature ready to use.

  • Customer Action Required: You must take action before these features can be used. These features are delivered disabled and you choose if and when to enable them.

Retail Integration Bus (RIB)

Enhance Integration Bus API to Enable/Disable Adapters Asynchronously

The set-enable enhancement in the RIB API allows for asynchronous enabling or disabling of adapters through a RESTful endpoint. It triggers the action in the background, providing immediate feedback to the user while the operation runs asynchronously. The result is logged, and the RIB application status is updated based on the input

Enhance Existing Integration Bus API to Enable/Disable Adapters to Consider Existing State of Integration Bus App

The enhanced, existing RESTful endpoint now evaluates the RIB application's current state before taking action. Improved error handling ensures more reliable and robust responses. This makes the API more intelligent and resilient to failures.

Graceful Shutdown of Integration Bus Adapters in Repave Scenarios

During periodic repavement of nodes, the RIB adapters are gracefully brought down before the underlying application container shuts down.

Universal Service Mapper

Added the Ability to Purge and Back Up the Dynamic DVM Table to Improve Performance

USM now has a configurable feature in which the Dynamic DVM can be purged and backed up if the table grows too large. This improves performance while providing flexibility to retain the business-critical data in an archive that can be restored if needed.

Bulk Data Integration (BDI)

Ability to Restart Failed Bulk Data Integration Process Flows from Process Orchestration and Monitoring

Provides latest status of activities in telemetry end point when Process flow is running. This enables Process Orchestration and Monitoring (POM) application to detect failures as soon as sub flow fails. Process Flow UI also receives updated information about activities.

Dev Ops Improvements

Modifications to RICS-SIOCS Seamless Integration

Patching and provisioning of RICS and SIOCS (Store Inventory Operations Cloud Services) together have been streamlined further in this release.
