Scheduling a Blackout Window

To schedule an Ad Hoc Blackout Window, the administration user selects the Blackout Window Task from the Submit a New System Admin Task window, as shown in the following figure. When scheduling the blackout window task, the administration user can specify two windows: a notification window and a blackout window, both in minutes. A Blackout Window message is displayed.

This image shows the blackout window task.
The Notification Window is defined as the scheduled time duration of the task to the end of the notification window. The Blackout Window is defined as the time from the end of the notification window to the end of the blackout window. For example, as shown in the following figure, the task is scheduled to begin at 9:45, with a notification window of 60 minutes, and a blackout window of 180 minutes. So the notification window begins at 9:45 and ends at 10:45; the blackout window begins at 10:45 and ends at 13:45.

Once submitted, the blackout window task is displayed in the task queue where the administration user can monitor it. Once the task starts, the application will be in the notification window for the specified period. The task will be shown in Success mode once the notification period is complete, and the actual Blackout Periods started.
