Patch Workflow

The Patch Workflow task is submitted when an administration user publishes one or more editable workflows. Workflow Manager validates the selected workflows and acquires the required publish locks before the task is submitted.

This task runs the workflow-only application patch. It exports the published workflow definitions, generates the workbook XML and taskflow artifacts, validates the generated configuration, and rebuilds and registers the application workflow artifacts.

Task Label

The task label is Patch Workflow. The label and task identifier are displayed in the Task Status Dashboard.

Workflow Scope

The task processes the selected workflows as well as the already PATCHED workflows for the application. Workflow items that are being published remain locked from conflicting changes while the task is active.

Task Results

Workflows that complete successfully are marked PATCHED. A workflow that fails export or validation is marked FAILED, excluded from the generated workflow artifacts, and reported in its validation child task and service log.
