Settlement Journey
This section explains how customer program settlements are created and processed for device-control program events.
The following are included:
Actors
The following users are involved in the settlement journey:
• Utility Program Manager
• Utility CSR - Customer Service Representative
• Utility Customer
Prerequisites
To enable settlements in Oracle Utilities Customer Program Management Cloud Service set up the required configuration:
• Program Settlement Method attribute on the Program to indicate when settlement is calculated (End of Season, After Event Participation)
• Program incentives and fees calculation rules
• Baseline Calculation rule for the “X of Y Calculation Method”
• Vector and Service Quantity Math Rule
• Device (Meter) and measurement options
• Interval Price Sets and Interval Prices
For information about the configuration in Oracle Utilities Customer Program Management Cloud Service, refer to the latest
Oracle Utilities Customer Program Management Cloud Service documentation on
Oracle Help Center.
Use Cases
This section describes the key use cases supported by the application, outlining how users and systems interact to accomplish specific tasks.
End of Event Settlements
Use this process to settle completed program events for customers enrolled in a device-control program.
1. Search for the customer enrolled in a device-control program.
2. Open the customer’s program enrollment record.
3. Confirm that the program settlement method is “After-Event Participation”.
4. Initiate program event settlement for completed program events (X1-INIPES).
• Program event settlement transactions are created for each program event/event participation found.
• Interval prices are applied to the “kWh avoided” interval values to compute the total the results for the event.
• Event Settlement are transitioned to ‘Calculated’ status and the per interval calculations are displayed in a zone.
5. On receipt of a Customer Settlement request, Oracle Utilities Customer Program Management Cloud Service aggregates the customer’s unbilled Event Participation incentives and calculates the total settlement amount to be applied and reflected on the customer’s bill.
End of Season Settlements
Use this procedure to settle completed program events for customers enrolled in a device-control program where the settlement method is End-of-Season.
1. Identify a customer enrolled on a device-control program that has the program settlement method as “End-of-Season”.
2. Initiate the program event settlement for completed program events (X1-INIPES).
• Program event settlement transactions are created for each program event/event participation found.
• Event settlement are transitioned to “Calculation Deferred”.

3. On receipt of a Customer Settlement request, Oracle Utilities Customer Program Management Cloud Service processes all the settlements in the “Calculation Deferred” status to compute the participation incentive amount to be applied and reflected on the customer’s bill.
Perform Settlements Re-calculations
1. Identify a customer for which the event settlement request has already been created.
2. Update measurement data for the event period before the event settlement has been included in a customer settlement transaction.
3. Use the Recalculate Program Settlement (X1-RCEVS) batch process.
• Program event settlement transactions are re-calculated.
Customer Settlements
1. A customer settlement request is received within Oracle Utilities Customer Program Management Cloud Service from a CIS system and a customer settlement request transaction is created in the “Pending” state.
2. Execute the Customer Settlement (X1-PRCS) batch process.
3. For customer settlement transactions for programs where the program settlement method is set to “End of Season”, all the Program Settlement Transactions with “Calculation Deferred” state are used to compute an average of a set of the “Maximum Drop” values.
4. The customer settlement transaction transitions to “Calculate” state, in which all the customer’s program settlements for the requested time period are collated and totalized.
