Defining Program Settlement Calculation Rules
You use the Program Settlement Calculation Rule portal to display and maintain program settlement calculation rules.
Refer to Understanding Program Settlement Calculation Rules and Understanding Program Settlement Calculation Groups for more information.
You can access the portal by selecting Admin, select Customer Program Management, then select Program Settlement Calculation Rule. You are brought to a query portal with options for searching. Once your record has been selected you are brought to the maintenance portal to view and maintain the selected record.
The following zones may appear as part of the portal's Main tab page:

Program Settlement Calculation Rule: This zone displays the program settlement calculation rule, including parameters used when executing the rule.

Eligibility Criteria List: This zone lists eligibility criteria for the current calculation rule. Eligibility criteria are configured criteria used to determine whether to execute a specific calculation rule.
Program Settlement Calculation Rules
The following is a list of the program settlement calculation rules provided as part of base product. For more information on how each rule executes and can be configured, follow the link provided on the rule.

This rule is used to calculate program event settlement transactions that represent credits that will be applied to a customer's bill based on participation in an individual event. This rule uses multiplies "kWh avoided" or "kW drop" interval values captured on program event settlement transactions by interval prices defined in an interval price set. Interval prices can be defined as specific interval price sets or can be derived from more than one interval price set by an algorithm. When program event settlement transactions are created from data received from an external analytics application, "kWh avoided" or "kW drop" interval values are populated when the transaction is created. When program event settlement transactions are created via batch processing "kWh avoided" or "kW drop" interval values are calculated via baseline calculations, performed via a combination of a Baseline Calculation rule and Vector and Service Quantity Math rule to calculate reductions in consumption or demand. Note: The base package does not include algorithms for deriving prices for use in program settlement calculations. Implementations must configure their own algorithms if they wish to derive prices from more than one interval price set. |

This rule is used to calculate "Combined kW Drop" program event settlement transactions that represent credits that will be applied to a customer's bill based on participation in an individual event. This rule averages values captured on "kW Drop" program event settlement transactions and multiplies the result by a price. Prices can be defined in the rule configuration or can be derived by an algorithm. The average "kW Drop" value (captured as the Settlement Quantity on the "Combined kW Drop" program event settlement transaction) is calculated from the "Max Drop" values from the "kW Drop" program event settlement transactions that fall into the "top" percentage of values defined by the Demand Drop Percentage (%) parameter. See About Program Event Settlement Transactions for more information about the distinction between "kW Drop" and "Combined kW Drop" program event settlement transactions. When program event settlement transactions are created from data received from an external analytics application, "kWh avoided" or "kW drop" interval values are populated when the transaction is created. | Incentive and Fee Calculation Rule | This rule is used to calculate incentive- and fee-based program event settlement transactions that represent credits or changes that will be applied to a customer's bill based on incentives and/or fees configured for a program to which the customer subscribes. |

| Vector and Service Quantity Math |
This rule is designed to facilitate configuration of complex vector calculations. It is based on a series of underlying services with vectors configured as input to the calculations. This can be used to calculate reductions in consumption or demand by subtracting actual consumption or demand from baseline consumption or demand calculated using the Baseline Calculation rule. |
| Execute Usage Calculation Group |
This rule is used to execute a separate usage calculation group which includes execution of all usage calculation rules within that group. For example, this can be used to group a Baseline Calculation rule and Vector and Service Quantity Math rule to calculate reductions in consumption or demand, which can then be passed to an End of Event Program Settlement Rule or End of Season Program Settlement rule. |
