Export and Import a CSV File Containing Synonyms for Data Model Columns
Business users can add synonyms for data model columns to a CSV file exported from Oracle Analytics by the administrator. After the administrator uploads the modified file, the synonyms are applied to the data model. The synonyms make it easier for users to search and find columns when they search from the home page or use Oracle Analytics AI Assistants.
Administrators can import updates from partial CSV files. Instead of sharing a single CSV file with multiple business users to add synonyms, create and distribute separate CSV files, that include only the columns assigned to each business user. Import each file after the assigned user completes it. If more than one user adds synonyms for the same column, the most recent import overwrites earlier changes to that column.
Indexing starts automatically after you import the file, so there is no need for you to run indexing manually. The index process is fast and the synonyms are implemented for use in the home page and AI Assistant in a few minutes.

Alternatively, administrators who have access to the Search Index page can add synonyms to specific data model columns through the Data Model tab. See Specify Synonyms for Data Model Columns from the Console.
