This part of the Enterprise Deployment guide contains the following topics:
Creating the Initial Infrastructure Domain for an Enterprise Deployment The following topics describe how to install and configure an initial domain, which can be used as the starting point for an enterprise deployment. Later chapters in this guide describe how to extend this initial domain with the various products and components that comprise the enterprise topology that you are deploying.
Configuring Oracle HTTP Server for an Enterprise Deployment When you configure the web tier, you have the option of using Oracle HTTP Server or Oracle Traffic Director. If you choose to use Oracle HTTP Server, then you must install Oracle HTTP Server on each of the web tier hosts and configure Oracle HTTP standalone domains on each host.
Configuring Oracle Traffic Director for an Enterprise Deployment When you configure the web tier, you have the option of using Oracle Traffic Director to route requests to the application tier, rather than Oracle HTTP Server. The procedure to configure Oracle Traffic Director is different from the procedure to configure Oracle HTTP Server. If you decide to use Oracle Traffic Director, then you must install Oracle Traffic Director on both the web tier hosts and the application Tier hosts. Then, you extend the enterprise deployment domain to include Oracle Traffic Director.
