Domain: Environment: Resource Groups

This page summarizes the resource groups that have been configured in the current WebLogic Server domain.

NOTE: WebLogic Server Multitenant domain partitions, resource groups, resource group templates, and virtual targets are deprecated in WebLogic Server The related Console and help pages will be removed in the next release.


Name Description

Creates a new resource group.


Deletes the selected resource group.


Migrates the selected resource group.


Starts the selected resource group.


Stops the selected resource group.

Column Display

You can show fewer or additional data points on this page by expanding Customize this table and modifying the Column Display list. Each data point displays in its own table column.

The following table lists all of the data points that you can display in columns on this page.

Name Description

The name that you specified when you created the resource group.

Resource Group Template

The resource group template referenced by this resource group.

MBean Attribute:


The scope in which this resource group was configured.

Domain Partition

The list of domain partitions in which the resource group is available.


The state of the resource group.


The targets for this resource group.


Optional information that you can include to describe this configuration.

WebLogic Server saves this note in the domain's configuration file (config.xml) as XML PCDATA. All left angle brackets (<) are converted to the XML entity &lt;. Carriage returns/line feeds are preserved.

Note: If you create or edit a note from the Administration Console, the Administration Console does not preserve carriage returns/line feeds.
