Add a Path Connection

A path connection is required when using a Distribution Path for connecting between two deployments on remote servers. In a hub-based environment you may not need to set up a Distribution Path for connecting the deployments.

Use the Path Connection page to create user credentials for the distribution path to connect to two separate deployments across a secure network. Follow these steps to configure a path connection from the Administration Service:

Note:

Before you begin adding a distribution path, make sure you establish a path connection. See Add a Path Connection.

  1. From the Administration Service left navigation pane, click Path Connections.

  2. From the Path Connections page, click the plus sign to open the Path Connection dialog box.

  3. Enter the following options in the Path Connection dialog box:
    • Credential Domain: This option is preset as Network and cannot be changed.

    • Credential Alias: Specify an alias for the user credential, such as ggeast.

    • User ID: Specify a user ID in this box. For a distribution path connection, this value is the user ID used to access the target deployment.

    • Password: Specify a password for the associated user ID.

  4. Click Submit.
