A Migrating from a Non-Container Database (Non-CDB) to a Container Database (CDB)
This appendix describes the steps to migrate a non-container database (non-CDB) to a container database (CDB), allowing for changes to the host name, service name, or port name.
For information about multitenancy, CDBs, and puggable databases (PDBs), review the following resources:
- On

: Multitenant: Overview of Container Databases (CDB) and Pluggable Databases (PDB) - 12c Release 1 (12.1): Multitenant Architecture
This appendix includes the following sections:
- About the Migration Scenario
- Starting the Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle SOA Suite Domains on the Source Database
- Exporting from the Source Database
- Importing to the Target Database
- Updating JDBC Connections for the Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle SOA Suite Domains
- Starting the Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle SOA Suite Domains on the Target Database
Note:
The steps in this appendix assume that you already have the source (non-CDB) and target (CDB) environments set up, similar to the example use case described in About the Migration Scenario.
