Template

The Template tab of the Content Presenter Configuration dialog enables you to specify the display template to use. By default, Oracle WebCenter Portal selects an appropriate display template based on the type of content selected. You can change the default template as required. More

Element Description

Template Category

Select whether the template you want to use to display multiple content items is a default template, Site Studio template, or some other custom template category.

By default, there are two categories: Default Templates and Site Studio Templates. This selection defines the collection of built-in display templates available for multiple content items. Other selections that may be available are custom template categories and display templates that the application specialist has uploaded to WebCenter Portal.

This dropdown list is available only if the Content Source selected on the Content tab is a multiple content item (Contents Under a Folder, Results of a Query, or List of Items).

Template

Select the template that you want to use to display the selected content item or items.

If the selected content item is a Site Studio contributor data file or other single content item, select either a Site Studio region display template or a Content Presenter display template.

If you have selected multiple content items, you must first select the type of template you want to use in the Template Category dropdown list. The Template dropdown list then includes only templates of that type.

Tip: To identify the Site Studio region display templates, hover your mouse pointer over the templates in the list to display hint text identifying the Site Studio templates.

Preview

The Preview tab of the Content Presenter Configuration dialog enables you to preview the results of the selections you have made on the other tabs.

The appearance of the content on the Preview tab is dependent on whether the selected display template uses a stretch or flow layout. While the final view of the task flow can be configured to use either a stretch layout or a flow layout, the Preview tab uses only a flow layout. As a result, the preview of content using templates that were designed for a stretch layout will display unstretched at a fixed default size. This is the normal behavior of stretchable content when displayed in non-stretching flow layout. To allow stretchable content to stretch to its full size and fill the task flow space entirely, click the Edit icon for the task flow to display the Component Properties dialog, and select the Stretch Content property (on the Display Options tab).
