Create Role

The Create Role dialog opens when the custom role is selected from the Create Role drop-down. Use the Create Role dialog to define new roles for portal members. The settings in this dialog are available to the portal manager (or members with the Manage Membership permission). More

Element	Description
Role Name	Enter a suitable name for the role. Role names can contain alphanumeric characters, blank spaces, @, hyphens, and underscores. Ensure that role names are self-descriptive to make it as obvious as possible which portal members should belong to which roles. Note: You cannot use the name moderator or Moderator for a custom role. Even though the default role of Moderator has been renamed to Portal Manager, the name moderator or Moderator is still reserved for internal use.
Description	Enter a description for the role.
Role Template	Optionally, select an initial template for the new role. The new role inherits permissions from the template role. You can modify these permissions on the Roles page. If you do not select a role template, a new role is created without any initial permissions. Select Portal Manager to create a role that inherits full administrative privileges for the portal. More
