Page Editor: Structure View

Use Structure view of the page editor to add components, edit component properties, or delete components from page templates or application-level system pages and task flows.

Structure view provides a combined WYSIWYG and hierarchical rendering of page components, where controls are available in the header of the hierarchical list pane. In Structure view, controls on individual components are inactive, but you can click an individual component to select it. More

Hide Structure/Show Structure

Click to hide or show the component structure view.

Add icon Add content into the selected component

Click to display the Resource Catalog, which lists the components you can add to the page template, system page, or task flow.

This icon is enabled only when you select a valid container component.

When you add a component from the resource catalog, it is added as the first child component inside the container. More

Show Properties icon Show the properties

Click to display the Component Properties dialog, where you can edit the properties of the selected component. More

Delete icon Delete

Click to delete the selected component.

If the Delete icon is disabled, then you may not have the required privileges or the component cannot be deleted.

When you delete a component, all of its child components are also deleted. More

Cut icon Cut this component

Click to cut a component so you can move it to a different location in the tree structure.

You can resequence components in this way only by selecting them in the structure navigator.

Paste the cut component icon Paste the cut component

After clicking Cut this component, select another component next to which you want to paste the component and click the arrow next to Paste the cut component to select a paste location for the component:

  • Paste Before: Places the component before the selected component in the tree structure.

  • Paste Into: Places the component inside the selected component.

  • Paste After: Places the component after the selected component in the tree structure.

Reset Task Flow icon Reset Task Flow

(Only shown when editing a task flow) Click to remove all edits, regardless of when they were made, and restore the task flow fragment to its original state. This change will be reflected on all pages that contain this task flow.

Click to select the position of the component structure view navigator.
