Portal Templates

Use the Portal Templates page to manage every portal template in WebCenter Portal. From here, you can create new portal templates, delete unwanted templates, import or export templates, and publish or hide templates.

With the Portal Templates: Create permission can create, delete, rename, import, export or hide a portal template. Application specialists (or any user with the Portal Templates: Manage All permission) can publish a portal template.

Element Description

Create icon Create

Click to open the Create Portal Template dialog, where you can create a new portal template. More

Import icon Import

Click to import one or more portal templates from a portal template archive (.par file).

In the Import Portal Templates pane, specify the .par file you want to import. More

Export icon Export

Click to export one or more selected portal templates. To select multiple templates, Ctrl+click all required rows.

In the Export Portal Templates pane, set export options as required. More

Select one or more portal templates and click Actions icon to perform any of the following actions on the selected templates:

About Portal Template

View information about the portal template. More

Rename Portal Template Display Name

Open the Rename Portal Template Display Name dialog, where you can give the selected template a new name and optional description. More

Set Template Access

Open the Set Template Access dialog, where you can grant access to the selected template. More

Make Public

Publish the selected templates to all users. More

Remove Public Access

Hide the selected templates from all users (except the template creator). More

Delete Portal Template

Permanently remove the selected portal templates from WebCenter Portal. You cannot delete built-in templates. More

Filter

Enter a full or partial search term, then click Search icon to refresh the list with all portal templates for which a match is found in the name or description.

To clear the current search string and display all portal templates, click Clear Search icon.

More

Refresh icon Refresh

Click to refresh the list of portal templates. Make sure that any prior search is cleared (click Clear Search icon), and no filter is specified in the filter panel.

Name

Displays portal template names and descriptions.

Public

Indicates whether the template is available to everyone (public) or available to the template owner only (private). More

Created By

Displays the name of the portal template creator, along with the creation date and time.
