How to Configure Oracle Database Access Using a NAS Device

You can configure Oracle Database access using a file system on a network-attached storage (NAS) device. The file system can be used for Oracle binaries (Oracle Home) and for the Oracle database. A scalable resource group using the SUNW.ScalMountPoint resource type is configured to manage mounting the file system on all potential Oracle Database cluster nodes simultaneously.

Before You Begin

Ensure that the NAS device and file system are configured for use with Oracle Solaris Cluster. For more information, see Managing Network-Attached Storage Devices in an Oracle Solaris Cluster 4.4 Environment.
