Remove an Existing Predefined Zone
Cockpit administrators, as needed, can remove the configuration an existing
firewalld
predefined zone using the Networking page in the web console.
What Do You Need?
- The Cockpit web console must be installed and accessible.

- The
cockpit-networkmanager
package is installed. Typically, this package is installed by default. For package installation details, see Install and Manage Add-on Applications. - Administrator privileges.
Steps
Using the Cockpit web console, follow these steps to remove an existing zone-based firewall configuration on the host system.
- In the Networking page, find the Firewall panel and click
Edit rules and zones.
A Firewall page appears listing information for the current zone configuration(s).
- In the Firewall page, perform the following steps:
- Find the name of the zone (for example, work zone).
- Click the actions [⋮] menu (associated with the zone to be
removed) and select Delete.
The selected zone is removed from the Firewall page.
