• The link-editor provides the -zctf option to enable the production of CTF (Compact C Type Format) data in objects, providing a simpler way to produce CTF than the usual ctfconvert and ctfmerge utilities. CTF is used by observability tools such as mdb and DTrace. See ld(1) and ctf(7).
