Control the Locate Button/LED Locally

If you are physically present at the server, use this procedure to turn off or to turn on the Locate Button/LED indicator. This procedure is performed locally and requires physical access to the server front panel FIM or back panel.

1. To control the Locate Button/LED indicator locally, do one of the following:

   • To turn off the blinking Locate Button/LED indicator, press the Locate Button/LED button.

   • To turn on the Locator indicator, press the Locate Button/LED button.

     Note:

     Some Oracle ILOM security procedures require that you turn on the Locate Button/LED indicator locally, as part of a physical presence verification step.

   • To perform a lamp test of all front panel indicators, press the Locate Button/LED three times within a five-second period.

     All of the front panel indicators light up and remain lit for 15-20 seconds.
