5 Installing the Server Into a Rack

This section describes how to install Oracle Server X8-8 into a rack using the shelf rail assembly in the Rackmount Kit.

The server does not have slide rails. After you install the server in the rack, you cannot slide it out without uninstalling it. However, almost all components can be accessed from the front or back, so uninstalling the server is seldom necessary.

In this guide, the term "rack" means either an open rack or a closed cabinet.
