Load HCM Data Loader ZIP Files on the Oracle WebCenter Content Server

You can integrate the HCM Data Loader component of Oracle Cloud HCM with the Oracle WebCenter Content server to automate the bulk-loading of data to Oracle Cloud HCM.

The Oracle WebCenter Content server can act as a staging infrastructure for files that are loaded and processed by the HCM Data Loader. To load ZIP files in the Oracle WebCenter Content server, you can use manual and programmatic methods by using the Oracle WebCenter Content server APIs.

Upload HCM Data Loader ZIP Files Using the File Import and Export Task in the Web User Interface

You can stage HCM Data Loader ZIP files on the Oracle WebCenter Content server by using the File Import and Export task in the Oracle Cloud HCM web user interface.

  1. From the Navigator menu, select Tools. If Tools is not visible, select More.
  2. Click File Import and Export.
  3. Click Upload File, and then click Choose File, to select a ZIP file from your file system.
  4. From the Account drop-down list, select hcm/dataloader/import to secure the file, and then click Save and Close.
  5. Click View, and then under Columns make sure that Content ID is selected. This value is used as a parameter for the HCM Data Loader web service and to perform manual file processing.

Upload HCM Data Loader ZIP Files Manually Using the File Import and Load Data Page

You can store the data file that you're preparing to import and load locally on your desktop, or upload it to Oracle WebCenter Content.

Follow these steps to import and load your data using the Import and Load Data page:
  1. On the Tasks Panel tab in the Data Exchange work area, click Import and Load Data to open the Import and Load Data page.
  2. Select Import File, and then select  Import Local File.
  3. In the Select File dialog box, click Browse to search for and select your file. Alternatively, drag the file from your local file browser to the Browse button.
  4. Click Submit to upload your file to the Oracle WebCenter Content server. The file is loaded automatically to the HCM Data Loader hcm/dataloader/import import account, and is assigned a unique content ID.
