Visualize data and create forecasts

Oracle Analytics Cloud provides a powerful and highly intuitive user interface to visualize data using graphs.

  1. Log in to Oracle Analytics Cloud and create a connection to Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse using the connection information from the Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse console.
  2. Using the connection created in Step 1, create an Oracle Analytics Cloud dataset. Drag the table of interest to the central pane to visualize data and see the summary statistics about each field.
  3. Click on the graph icon on the top-left of the screen and select the Graph Type as Line.
  4. From your dataset, drag QUANTITY_ORDERED to the Y axis field in the center navigation bar. Expand the ORDER_DATE field and drag Month to the X axis. This action will create a line graph of QUANTITY_ORDERED vs ORDER_DATE (Month).
  5. Add a forecast to the graph: Right-click on the graph, select Add Statistics and then select Forecast from the sub menu. A forecast line graph section will display to the right.
  6. Add a trend line: Right-click on the graph, select Add Statistics and then select Trend Line from the sub menu. A trend line will display across the graph.
