Upgrade the Library Firmware

Update the library firmware to access the latest features.

  1. Verify you are using a compatible browser to upgrade the firmware. Some browsers may falsely show upload progress, but not actually upload the firmware.

    Recommended browsers:

    • Mozilla Firefox ESR (Extended Support Release)
    • Microsoft Edge
    • Google Chrome
  2. Download the library firmware (see Download Firmware from My Oracle Support).
  3. Extract the firmware ZIP (the extracted file should contain a .tar file and release notes).
  4. Log in to the remote interface as an administrator.
  5. Select Firmware in the left menu.
  6. Select the Library Firmware tab, and then click Upgrade Upgrade icon.
  7. Browse to the folder that contains the firmware, and select the SL150_xyz0.tar file, where xyz0 is the four-digit form of the release number.
  8. To install the new firmware and restart the library, click OK.

Depending on the browser, you may see the Uploading % in the bottom-left corner of the window or an active circle on the browser tab, while some browsers may not show any indication of the initial file upload progress.

    Note:

Some browsers may appear to show the file upload progress, but will not actually transfer the file. If the upload takes an excessive amount of time, cancel the upload and try one of the recommended browsers.

  9. If the firmware upgrade fails, verify the file (see Verify the Download). If the file is ok, create a service request (see Create a Service Request).
