Managing Cloud Target Lifecycle Rules (BUI)

You can manage a cloud target's lifecycle to streamline management of backup data. Each cloud target can have up to two rules: archive and delete. For example, you can set rules to archive backups after 30 days and delete them after 90 days. Some options are disabled based on the type of target, so archiving rules are restricted on archive buckets and ZFSSA targets to ensure correct configuration. The rules must be unique and you must set a duration of at least 1 day.

  1. From the Configuration menu, select Services, then Cloud.
  2. Click the Targets tab.
  3. Hover over the cloud target to modify, and click its edit icon image showing the cloud target edit icon .
  4. Click the plus icon next to Lifycycle Policy Rules and enter the desired options.
    • Archive - Configure an archive rule when to retain backups for long-term storage, when you don't need to access them frequently or require immediate retrieval.

    • Delete - Configure a delete rule when you want backups to be automatically removed after a specified interval.

    • Days - Specify the interval as the number of days after which the configured lifecycle action—archive or delete—is triggered for each backup.

    • Enabled - Check the box to enable the rule, clear the box to disable the rule.
