Renaming a Filesystem, LUN or Object Store (BUI)

Use the following procedure to rename a filesystem, LUN, or Object Store.

Caution:

Changing a share name will disrupt active client I/O operations.

1. Disconnect all active clients connected to the filesystem, LUN, or Object Store you want to rename.
2. From the Shares menu, select Shares.
3. Select Filesystems, LUNs, or Object Stores.
4. Click on the filesystem, LUN, or Object Store name in the list.
5. Enter the new name for the filesystem, LUN, or Object Store.

   The name must be 1 to 64 characters in length. The name cannot begin with a period (.) and cannot include spaces. Allowable characters are alphanumeric characters and special characters _ - . :

   If file retention is set, review section File Retention Management. You cannot rename a retained file, even after its retention has expired.

6. Press Return.
7. Click OK to confirm.
