The Argus Safety Service and the Interchange Service use SMTP for e-mail transmission if it has been enabled and configured in Argus using Argus Console > System Configuration > SMTP Configuration. Case Letters are also sent using SMTP.
Use the SMTP Configuration utility to send e-mails through the SMTP protocol from the Argus Safety Service to the e-mail server.
Navigate to Argus Safety Console > System Configuration > SMTP configuration.
When the SMTP Configuration dialog box appears, enter the following parameters:
SMTP server IP address or name
Port number
User name
Check Enable SMTP checkbox.
Click OK.

Navigate to Argus Console > Code Lists > Argus.
Select Reporting Destination.
Enter the e-mail address in the E-mail Address text box under Agency Information.
The Bulk Report Transmit e-mail is sent to this e-mail address.
Navigate to Argus Console > Code Lists.
Select Autosignals.
Enter the e-mail address in the Send E-mail Notification To: text box.
The autosignal e-mail is sent to the specified e-mail address.
The Failure E-mail field or the Notify E-mail field in the Argus Safety Service Process screen indicates the e-mail address of the person receiving the e-mail message.
On the system where the Argus Safety Service is installed, select Start > All Programs > Oracle > Argus Safety Service Configuration.
The Argus Safety Service dialog box appears.
Double-click E-mail process.
Enter an e-mail address for Failure E-mail or Notify E-mail.
On the system where the Argus Safety Service is installed, select Start > All Programs > Oracle > Argus Safety Service Configuration.
The Argus Safety Service dialog box appears.
Double-click E-mail Status process.
Enter an e-mail address for Failure E-mail or Notify E-mail.
From the Argus Console, navigate to Access Management > Argus > Groups.
The E-mail field on the Group Information dialog box contains the e-mail address of the person receiving the e-mail message
For Dossier notification, the E-mail Address on the Groups and Users screen field contains both the sender e-mail address and the receiver e-mail address.
Sender e-mail address represents the normal AG user.
Receiver e-mail address is the owner of the Dossier template.
To configure the owner of the Dossier template, navigate to
Argus Web > Reports > ICH PSUR Reports > Configuration Screen > Template tab.
Log in to ESM Mapping.
Select Administrator > Setup INI File.
For e-mail sent by Interchange Service, the IT E-mail, Business E-mail, and User E-mail fields in the Service INI File Setup window contains the e-mail addresses of those receiving the e-mail message.
Sender E-mail is the e-mail address that the Argus Interchange Service displays as the 'From' address in the e-mails that it sends.
Note:
Interchange Service sends e-mail messages to IT, Business, or User e-mail addresses depending on the type of alert, error, warning, or information the system encounters.
