Supported configurations
You can install the following CRF Submit components on separate computers, or on the same computer:
- Server Manager
- DocGen Server
- Storage Server
- Connector Server
You must install the Requestor component on the InForm application server. You cannot install the other CRF Submit components on the InForm application server.
Oracle recommends the following:
- At a minimum, install each CRF Submit component and the CRF Submit database server on a dedicated computer.
- Install a second Server Manager as backup for the active Server Manager. By default, the first Server Manager you install is the active one.
- For increased performance, consider installing the rest of the components on multiple servers. For example, you can install multiple DocGen servers and distribute PDF generation between them. For more information, see Processing considerations and options.
- Because the CRF Submit servers communicate heavily with the database, use fast network connections with low latency and high bandwidth.
If the CRF Submit servers and database are in different VLANs or different data centers, high latency can occur. In this case, performance may be impacted and you may have to adjust timeouts accordingly.
