Adding a signal comment type

Signal comment types are comments that you can apply to drug-event combinations, for example, Open Bring to Meeting.

The application includes some signal comment types by default. If you have the Manage Signal Configurations permission, you can add signal comment types.

Additionally, you can edit and delete comment types, and change the sort order of comment types.

1.         Click Settings.

The Settings page appears.

2.         In the Configure System section, click Manage Signal Configurations.

The Manage Signal Configurations page appears.

3.         Click the row menu (Row menu) for the signal configuration, and then click Edit Comment Types.

The Edit Comment Types window appears.

4.         Click Add Comment Type.

The Add/Edit Comment Type dialog box appears.

5.         Fill in the fields according to the following table.

6.         Click Save.

7.         Click Close.

Field

Description

Comment text

Comment. When users perform Document Review, this value appears in the Comment drop-down list.

Abbreviated comment text

Shortened version of the comment. When users select this comment in Document Review, this value appears in the Comment column on the Drug-Event Combinations page.

Is suppress reason?

If you select Yes, the comment is available in the Document Review dialog box as a reason for suppressing a drug-event combination.

If this field is not set to Yes for any comments, then the Suppress drug-event combination checkbox does not appear on the Document Review dialog box.

Is review reason?

If you select Yes, the comment is available to select in the Comment field in the Document Review dialog box.

If private comments are enabled, the comment is available to be added as a private comment.

Requires detailed comment?

If you select Yes, users must enter an additional free-text comment in the Document Review dialog box when selecting this comment.

Requires associated topic?

If you select Yes, users must associate a topic with the drug-event combination in the Document Review dialog box when selecting this comment.

Review after delta threshold

Enter the number of new cases after which a signal that has been suppressed (on the Document Review dialog box) becomes unsuppressed.
