Importing data configurations

When you import data configurations from an Oracle account, you register them for use with the Empirica Signal application. When you import, all of the data configurations in the specified Oracle account are imported or re-imported.

If a data configuration has been deleted permanently, it cannot be re-imported. If it has had references to it removed, however, but has not been deleted permanently, it can be re-imported.

A data configuration cannot be imported or re-imported if there is another data configuration with the same name in another Oracle account.

In most cases, data configurations are created within the Empirica Signal application. If created outside of the application, a data configuration must have the same table structure as if it was defined within the application.

1.         Click Settings.

The Settings page appears.

2.         In the Configure System section, click Manage Configurations.

The Manage Configurations page appears.

3.         Click Import Configurations.

The Add/Import Configuration page appears.

4.         The accounts from which you can re-import are listed as links for you to click, or you can select a different account by clicking Import Configurations from a Different Account.

The data configurations in the account are imported.

5.         Edit the data configurations that you imported, as necessary. In some cases, changes to the Oracle tables that are referenced by the configuration (such as the drilldown map table) might be required. Existing data configurations that are re-imported retain their permissions, so you do not need to re-assign the permissions unless you want to change them.

6.         Validate the data configurations that you imported. When a configuration is imported or re-imported, it must be revalidated before it can be used to create new runs, queries, case series, or saved lists. Existing runs, queries, case series, and saved lists based on a re-imported configuration might not work correctly until the configuration is revalidated.

7.         If you have modified a data configuration, test it by selecting it for tasks in the application. You have not yet assigned permissions to the data configuration, but you can use it because you are the data configuration owner.

8.         Validate the data configuration again, if you made changes to it. Even if the only change was to assign permissions, you must validate the data configuration again.
