NOTE: The getConceptCode method defined in the Concept interface returns the internal code of an FDB concept. The internal concept code includes a suffix string identifying the concept type. To retrieve the FDB external concept code of the FDB concept, call the getExternalConceptCode() method that is defined in this interface.

getExternalConceptCode

String getExternalConceptCode()

Gets the FDB external concept code of this FDBConcept. The FDB external code is the FDB-assigned identifier without the type suffix. FDB assigns a unique identifier to every FDB concept. This identifier is the external concept code of the FDB concept. ETS uses the external concept code together with a type code suffix as the internal concept code.
For example, MedId "00150006" is an FDB external concept code for a medication. Therefore the FDB internal concept code is "00150006-MED".
