5.19.1 Introduction

The A_ObservationGeneral (identified/confirmable) CMET represents qualitative and quantitative observations made on a patient, specimen, or device. This includes the following set of observation types:

• Lab results
• Vital signs
• Intake and output
• Type and cross match
• Blood gases
• Anatomic pathology reports
• EKG reports
• Consultation reports
• Radiology reports
• Device evaluations
• Observation associated with an adverse event or product complaint.

The staff who documented the observation can be identified.
