5.71.1 Introduction

The R_MaterialMedProduct (universal) CMET represents medications. Each instance of this CMET represents a single item. When used in a request for supplies, the total number of item is specified in the Supply Request focal class. A material medication product may be a manufactured material that is a collection of other materials and optionally the content of a container. It provides specification of substances by kind of material, including both base and additive for compounded solutions. This role CMET emphasizes the curative or palliative properties of the manufactured material kind entity.
