5.23.1 Introduction

The A_ObservationOrder (identified/confirmable) CMET identifies a request for any quantitative or qualitative observation, including the following types:

• Lab results
• Vital signs
• Intake and output
• Type and cross match
• Blood gases
• Anatomic pathology reports
• EKG reports
• Consultation reports
• Radiology reports along with their associated text annotations and comments
• Device evaluation
• Observation associated with an adverse event or product complaint.
